There is a large selection of activities and attractions within a very short distance of the Holiday Cottages. The coastline can provide a huge range of diverse interests and activities for all the family - adults and children alike. The nearest coast is only 5 miles from our holiday cottages. You can find many ideas for great family days out under Pembrokeshire Heritage and History / Activities / Coastal Activities / Welsh Arts & Crafts .
Pembrokeshire is renowned for its outdoor pursuits, from wildlife studying on a Walking holiday to all nature of watersports against the beautiful coastal backdrop of the Pembrokeshire National Park, and indeed has the weather to support such activities. However for those who prefer inland or indoor pursuits we've included a few Tourist Attractions here. Leaflets with details of all these are available in each of the Holiday Cottages and the Coach Houses.
Cilgerran Castle - 5 minute drive from the cottages or take a walk along the river just outside the Courtyard. The picturesque remains include a pair of round towers dating back to the thirteenth Century.
Welsh Wildlife Centre - Situated on the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve at Cilgerran this is only a few minutes drive from our cottages. Visit the exceptional nature reserve and the award winning visitor centre.
There are nature trails, an exciting adventure playground , an on-site canoe centre and a cafe selling local produce.Well worth a visit. The dogs are welcome too!
Llys-Y-Fran Country Park & Reservoir
About 20 minutes from our holiday cottages. There are a variety of interests and activities to suit the whole family. Take a short stroll to one of the many vantage points & picnic sites or walk / cycle the whole six miles around the reservoir. There are rowing boats for hire and launching facilities for those with their own wind surfers, sailing boats or canoes. There are two adventure playgrounds for children of all ages, a restaurant, tea room and gift shop.
Ocean Lab
This centre displays exhibitions, offers hands on activities and an Ocean Quest area with computer-based games suitable for all the family. Also cyber café.
Pembrokeshire Motor Museum
houses a unique and interesting range of locally owned veteran, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and bikes. All totally under cover. The complex also includes a display of Dinky, Matchbox & Corgi models, a Chequered flag Café and gift shop.
Internal Fire - The Museum of Power
Covers the history of the Internal Combustion Engine in industry and Agriculture. Visit their website for more details.
Dyfed Shires Leisure Farm
Approximately 10 minutes from the Pembrokeshire Courtyard Holiday cottages. This traditional family run farm offers many hands-on experiences along with various leisure activities both indoors (11,000 sq ft) and outdoors for all ages. The activities vary from working horse demonstrations to quad biking and bumper boats. There is also a Gift shop, Antiques corner, Bygones’ museum and Farm Shop (Home-grown produce).
Clerkenhill Adventure Farm
Starting from the old farm buildings you can wonder through the adventure trail, observing the farm animals and working farmland. You can stop en route to enjoy a picnic or have a go on a variety of activities, quizzes and information boards. There are also refreshments and a fun play area.
Teifi Valley Railway
Narrow gauge steam railway that winds, alongside the river, through the beautiful Teifi valley. This nostalgic journey through unspoilt woodland, past ancient stone workings, reminds the traveller of the by gone era of steam. An excellent day out for children and not-so-grown-up grown ups !
Llywernog Silver-Lead Mine
This is an authentic 18th century silver mine. A visit to Llywernog offers a fascinating insight into life nearly 200 years ago, when the mine employed over 60 people. Today, Llywernog is a fascinating and educational family adventure, and continues to be developed as a major all-weather attraction.

Cwm Deri Vineyard - Enjoy a Vineyard Walk throughout the Summer Season then relax in the coffee shop or restaurant. The younger visitors will enjoy pets corner and well behaved dogs on leads are welcome to the outdoor areas of the vineyard.
Alternatively for family days out further a field, Pembrokeshire now boast several adventure parks. Why not visit Oakwood Theme Park, FollyFarm Family Adventure Park web ( with indoor fun fair) or the Dinosaur Park at Tenby.
There are many boat trips to the various islands in Pembrokeshire, and a host of coastal activities (see Activities section). The following is just an example-
Bay to Remember
Boat trips in Cardigan Bay. Watch sea birds, dolphins, porpoises and seals in their natural habitat. Visitors are able to observe these animals up close among the rocks, beaches and coves that are inaccessible from land.
