There are a number of pubs and restaurants nearby, some within walking distance of the cottages. Between them they offer a diverse variety of food, from 'a la carte' meals to good value pub lunches.
Previous guests at Pembrokeshire Courtyard Cottages have enjoyed good food and a warm welcome at the following. Castle Malgwyn Hotel, Llechryd
A small country hotel just a 2 minute walk further up the private tree lined drive from the Courtyard Cottages. Lounge & library bar and an ‘a la carte’ menu.
Cnapan Restaurant, Newport, Pembrokeshire
(approx 15 – 20 minute drive). Excellent selection of evening meals & fantastic hospitality, also light lunches.
PUBS / RESTAURANTS
Seven Stars Pub, Llechryd, Pembrokeshire: This welcome addition to the village only opened this year, but has already received some very complimentary coments from our guests. The owners are extremely welcoming.
Nags Head, Abercych, Pembrokeshire
4 miles approx. Recommended in the “Good Pub Guide” 2005. Typically old fashioned country pub, with beams, stone floors & wood burner. For those who truly like 'Eating out' there is a riverside “beer garden” and separate children’s play area. Lovely atmosphere. They serve wonderful Sunday lunches and evening meals. There is a good selection of wines and real ales. Watch out for the large portions !
The Pendre Inn, Cilgerran, Pembrokeshire
(2-3 mile drive or alternatively can be reached via a 25 -30 minute walk through the Gorge). Lovely 14th Century Inn, located in the heart of the village. A warm welcome. Open for lunches and evening meals. Always a good selection of real ales on offer. Our guests never fail to comment on the excellent hospitality and / or the good value home cooked food. Closed Tuesday & Sunday evenings.
The Ferry Inn, St. Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire
(4 miles away). Good selection of pub food, plus some exceptional meals on the 'specials board'. Superb views over the Teifi estuary from the very large decked area at the back of the pub. Allow well behaved dogs on the decking.
The Royal India Restaurant, Cardigan
( 3 miles)– Floating restaurant, with breathtaking views of the river Teifi estuary.. Fantastic selection of Indian dishes.
Abduls Indian Restaurant & Take Away, Cardigan
(3 miles awy). Traditional Indian cuisine. Often features in our visitors books. Excellent quality food and service from this award winning restaurant.
The Canteen, Newport
The Old Sailor, Pwllgwaelod
on Dinas Head, approx 30 minutes drive) Superb west facing location to enjoy sunsets over the bay. This beautifully renovated pub offers local fresh fish & seafood on the menu (our guests recommend the crab salad). Lunchtime & evening restaurant menu. Dogs are welcome on the grassy outside seating area.
The Sloop Inn, Porthgain
Probably the oldest and most famous pub in Pembrokeshire (pre- dates 1743). Open all day every day 09:30 – 23:00 hrs, lunch & evening menus, which often include local seafood. You can choose between the quaint, historic interior or the suntrap patio area outside. Dogs are welcome in the patio area.
Carpenter’s Arms, Llechryd
We have received mixed feedback from our guests about this establishment. It appears to be neither child nor dog friendly.
Fronlas, Market Street, Newport - Homemade food served all day. Very warm, dog-friendly welcome awaits you.

There is a small grocery shop and petrol station in Llechryd and a 24 hour Tesco store in Cardigan ( N.B. Tesco open Sunday 11am – 4pm ).
Llwynhelyg Farm Shop- 8 miles north of Cardigan - Specialise in he best quality local and Welsh produce. Hamper delivery available.
