The Pembrokeshire National Park consists of the coastal path, beaches, and inland areas including the Preselli Hills and Daugleddau estuary. Endless choices for walking holidays with your dog. For more details on dogs in the Pembrokeshire National Park please see our Pet friendly holidays page. You can choose to set off with your dog from any point along the 186 miles of coastal path, or select one of the many stunning beaches to get your pet friendly holiday off to a good start. The Pembrokeshire Courtyard Holiday cottages are only 5 miles from the nearest beach. Hence these luxury cottages provide an ideal base for your holiday in Pembrokeshire.
The Pembrokeshire National Park has over 50 beaches, all of which welcome dogs. During the height of the summer 1st May – end of September, some of the busier beaches (Poppit Sands, Newgale and a lot of the beaches in the Tenby area) have restricted areas for dogs. Whitesands has a total ban on dogs during this period. The restricted areas are detailed on notice boards at each of the beaches. This still leaves many miles of beaches that you can enjoy with your dog.
The nearest beach to the Pembrokeshire Courtyard Holiday Cottages is Poppit Sands. This is a firm favourite with local dog owners as well as those seeking a pet friendly holiday in this part of Wales. There is a vast expanse of sandy beach what ever the state of the tide. We would suggest that the best time to come on holiday to Pembrokeshire with your dog is during the spring, autumn and winter. You’ll find beaches that you and your best friend can have to yourselves, and your dog won't be struggling to cope with the fantastic temperatures that Pembrokeshire is renowned for in the summer.
Our luxury holiday cottages are designed to receive guests throughout the year - what better way to spend a winter's day than blowing away the cobwebs on the Pembrokeshire coastline, taking in the awesome views, and then returning to your luxury holiday cottage to sink into a sumptuous sofa in front of a roaring fire.
Many of the places to visit / 'family days out' in Pembrokeshire are also pet friendly.
