Access Statement for Clocktower Cottage

Our self catering holiday cottages are located at the end of a romantic private tree lined tarmac drive which leads to Hammet House (formerly Castell Malgwyn) Hotel, Llechryd in north Pembrokeshire. There are "speed ramps” located along this drive. There is a dedicated free car parking area for our guests in front of the Courtyard cottages. This is a flat gravel surfaced area. Motor vehicles are NOT permitted beyond the stone gate pillars into the Courtyard itself.

Main entrance to this holiday cottage is approximately 30m from the car parking area. This is a level walk over a loose gravel surface. There is a 140mm step up over the main entrance door threshold. Door clearance - width 780mm, height 1920mm.
The Self Catering Accommodation is over two floors.

Ground floor Accommodation

The narrowest doorway in this cottage is on the ground floor of the accommodation; it is 750mm wide, leading from the hall to the downstairs shower room
From the entrance hall of this luxury cottage there is a step down 250mm through archway (width 880mm, height 1800mm) into the lounge area. 2 steps up (maximum rise 200mm & minimum tread depth 520mm) into dining / kitchen area. Natural lighting & additional reading lighting. Remote TV, DVD & video controls. The sitting area has L-shaped "deep" sofa. The dining table has "high back” chairs.
The kitchen has work surfaces & appliances fitted at conventional heights - 910mm
Double bedroom door clearance – width 950mm, height 1900mm.
Twin bedroom door clearance – width 950mm, height 1950mm.
Shower room with WC & pedestal basin- height 850mm. Shower 1200mm x 760mm.
Light switches throughout the holiday cottage are at conventional heights and power points at 1.2m

First floor Accommodation

From the hallway of this self catering cottage, the original semi-spiral slate staircase with hand-rail leads to a galleried landing. 13 steps - maximum rise 200mm, minimum tread depth 180mm
Entrance to cottage master bedroom via further 9 slate steps up from galleried landing. Maximum step rise 220mm, minimum tread depth 250mm
Access to first floor bathroom off galleried landing area – doorway width 740mm, height 1950mm. Step up 250mm into shower cubicle - 750mm x 1000mm. Jacuzzi bath - height 640mm. WC & pedestal hand basin – height 820mm

Public transport bus stop in Llechryd village approximately 1000m walk (on the flat) from the Courtyard.
