2010 Secret cottage Guest Comments

We have included every comment from our Visitor's book - without any editing. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind comments. We are delighted to see that you have enjoyed your stay in Pembrokeshire, and particularly your short break / holiday at the Pembrokeshire Courtyard Holiday Cottages.
Our 3 dogs love hearing how much your dogs have enjoyed their stay at our pet friendly cottages ! We haven't heard of a dog yet that hasn't been bowled over by their walks / runs / swims on the beautiful Pembrokeshire Beaches!
The views expressed represent those of our guests, for which we take no responsibility.

Jan & Billie Seagrontt. (February ’10). My Dad and his wife used to own and run this place – so good to come back even though it was only theirs again for a weekend - Dad’s 80thbirthday do! Love the conversions – tasteful, good quality, plain and functional – warm, good bed & shower – the important things! Duvet could have been thicker/ bigger & didn’t like the dog bed in the small room upstairs. NOTE FROM OWNERS: There is no dog bed;there is a large round 'hedgehog' puffe from Ikea for the entertainment of children. Dogs ar not permitted in the bedrooms.

Helen & John McGrath. (March ’10). Lovely cottage, very homely. Made good use of the wood burner. Had great day out to St Davids & lovely coastal walk in the sunshine. Found few things closed because out of season or pubs not serving food at start of week. Had a great evening meal at the Nags Head (second attempts at trying to find the pub). Wish the break had been longer.

Sue and Steve Neston (May ’10). The cottage was home from home. We enjoyed the wood burner and had some great days out. We went fishing and the sea was calm. Look forward to coming back for another stay.

Catherine, Anthony, Luca and Leon. (May ’10). Very nice accommodation. Felt at home on first day. Beautiful setting. Weather very kind. Bit short on the knives and forks. My family thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here. Would recommend and come back! Many thanks. Catherine, Anthony, Luca and Leon.  NOTE FROM OWNERS: Apologies that the cleaners had let the cutlery run a bit low. It has been topped up back to the usual very generous amounts.

Fozzard Family (May ’10) Beautiful setting, lovely accommodation, comfy beds roomy yet cosy with wood burner giving it homely feeling. Used the Carptenter’s Arms and found then very friendly, food was excellent, very clean pub, children are welcome there as long as they are kept in check (nothing wrong with that). One slight quibble, think cars should be allowed into the courtyard to unload, we had elderly couple next to us and they struggled with their bags over such a distance. Otherwise had a fantastic time. Bob, Bev, Joan and Ian. NOTE FROM OWNERS: It is difficult, most guests appreciate the tranquility of the Courtyard (i.e. car free). We have now placed a porter's trolley in the log store for any guests that require assistance with loading / unloading.
Claire, Steve, Josh and Euan. (June ’10). Fantastic week, beautiful cottage& setting and great weather! Really enjoyed Mwnt Beach and cliffs. Visited St Davids & Cenarth Falls which were both lovely. Enjoyed Newport and dogs loved the beach and sea! Poppit beach was really great. There is so much to do and see and we wish we had another week. We feel very sad to be going tomorrow and am sure we will be back!
Gordon and Celia Barker (June ’10). Wonderful location and comfortable ‘lodgings’. Thank you we enjoyed our stay here immensely.
Sandra, Matthew, Tom, Catherine and Kasia Jones. (June ’10). Here for my 60thbirthday, lovely to see bottle of bubbly and cards waiting for me. Great cottage, so comfy and spacious, beds excellent. Games room, videos and books amazing – weather could have been better, but loved Mwnt beach, Poppit sands for Kiting and Tenby for seafood restaurants. Still lots more we didn’t see so hope to be back.
Tim & Fiona Blathnaul (Jun’10). Excellent quality of accommodation. Beautiful setting. Picturesque location & surroundings all set off with a great sense of character & history. Surrounded by great beaches. Beautiful locations/towns/ villages to visit; Newquay, Cenarth, St Davids & Narberth. Cardigan town very convenient. Tennis and Cricket club nearby (exit from driveway & turn right). Totally enjoyed our stay.
Chris & Fiona Maxted (Jun’10). Beautiful, quiet location. Super base for visiting nearby towns/villages. Recommend Newport, very pretty fishing village. Excellent restaurant in Harbourmaster in Abergeran. Lovely river / coastal walks – wish we had more time!
Ray & Elaine Bonner plus Son & Daughters & a daughter’s husband & partner (Jul’10). We very rarely all manage to ‘’get together’’/ holiday due to commitments & this setting and accommodation etc. made it a PERFECT hol. Thank you. P.s. we though the ‘dog bed’ – even tho we didn’t bring a pet was a very nice idea.
Jones (Jul’10). Fantastic cottage! Whole family had a great time, lovely areaJ
Stamp (Aug’10). What a lovely cottage, we have had a wonderful stay. The area is perfect and we really enjoyed a walk to Cilgerran by the river – and the castle too. We also loved the Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran with so much to do there – and the café is perfect for lunch. Dogs are welcome in most places (we particularly liked the Fronlas Café in Newport with a great menu and dogs welcome) and most beaches have areas for dogs in summer months (not Whitesands - though this is a great beach with a lovely walk above the beach). Many thanks Jon, Michelle, George & Flo!
Trace (Aug’10). Had a splendid week, fantastic countryside, nice weather, great facilities. Lovely walk to Cilgerran castle, enjoyed Poppit Sands and Newquay beach. Blue Lagoon good, but expensive.
Dower (Aug’10). What a beautiful place! My daughter does not want to go home. Cottage lovely. We had a great walk to Cilgerran Castle. Played on Poppit Sands. Canoeing at Cilgerran. Riding @ Nolton Haven. The Blue Lagoon was a godsend on an extremely rainy day. Topped off by a great meal @ the Seven Stars on the last night, wonderful hospitality and very child and dog friendly. It has been a real treat to stay here, we can’t wait to come back.
The Olney-Smith Family (including Izzie our 18mth old black Labrador), (Sep’10). Lovely cottage and location. The weather has been fantastic, so we visited Poppit Sands many times. Izzie loved it, though drank too much sea water on the first visit! Walked to Cilgerran Castle, went Coasteering (which was great fun!), walked around coast at Mwnt and enjoyed body boarding. We recommend a trip to Dinas to the Old Sailors Pub. The Nags Head at Abercych, was very friendly and allowed us to take Izzie inside. The games room was good fun and the choice of videos was fantastic. We would all love to come back! (Anna aged 12).
