Karl, Jo, Ed, Karen, Alex, Hannah, James, Daniel. (New year, Jan 2005). Had a fantastic time wish we could stay longer. Cottages were excellent – suitable for all ages – mommy cooked breakfast for the first time !!
Suzanne, Edward, William Muir, Caroline, Alexander, James Mason. (March 2005) The only spoiling an otherwise great break was the ‘live in nanny’! We all thoroughly enjoyed Poppit beach land Mwnt cove. The eldest two enjoyed the quad bikes at Dyfed Shires Farm, whilst the two five year olds played happily with the sand and animals. Finding good places to eat was more difficult, but the Nags head at Abercych & Pendre Inn in Cilgerran are better than most. The cottage and Coach House provided a great source of entertainment for the children. The adults enjoyed the riverside walk to Cilgerran and the odd glass or two of wine.
Mike & Allyson Thomas, (April ’05). Very lucky with the weather! Best beach – Poppit sands – thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Cottage excellent – much bigger than expected + very well equipped. Carpenters arms Okay for basic food – Felinfoel Double Dragon Ale a must. Only here four days – wished we stayed longer! PS. Discovered Pendre Inn on last night. Friendly staff – v.good food!
The McCourts & little dog, Monty (April ‘05) Had a wonderful stay, the Courtyard is beautiful – a sun trap in the day and lovely for a glass of wine in the evening. The cottage is perfect, everything here provided what we needed for our stay. Woodland path to Cilgerran is gorgeous lower the style through Castell Myn…..? The path alongside cottage beautiful too…but a bit squishy after rain so wear boots ! Carpenters arms in Llechryd a friendly little pub. Nags head – great food but digest it before the drive back !! Felt a bit green on the winding road home. Poppit was great, so is Mwnt. Our dog, Monty loved laying in the sun and playing – we all had a superb time.
Dot, Dave & Joyce, & Morg (April 05)– Had a fantastic 4 days. Was able to recharge batteries. Carpenters Arms – good food, friendly people- pub walking distance. Pendre Inn – Cilgerran – Excellent food in gorgeous, quaint pub. Very friendly people. Riverside walk to Cilgerran beautiful although very, very muddy due to rain! Tenby – lovely day out. We’ll definitely be back.
Erlend, Kathryn, Chloe, Annabelle & Henri Asker ( May 05) – A really lovely week – ½ sun, ½ cloud. Beautiful countryside. We are all now great Wales lovers – had not been before. Poppit & Mwnt beaches lovely – when we found Mwnt – we had to ask around before finally finding it. Nags Head @ Abercych – good beer (make their own ‘Old Emrys’) & Pendre Inn at Cilgerran really friendly & lovely ‘home cooked’ food at very reasonable prices. St David’s is very trendy & the ‘RIB’ boat ride with Aquaphobia fantastic ! The quad bikes were also a big hit with the kids – as was Pembertons Chocolate Farm – all in all a brilliant week. We are very sad to be going home.
The Gordons - Katie + Richard = mum+ dad, Sarah + Amy = kids, from Kilkenny, Ireland. (June 05) – It’s a great place. Love the games and videos. But pity weather. Lots of wishes, The Gordon family. PS. We are coming back next year.
Gary + Erica Hill, John + Mary Hill ( June 05) – A lovely place to visit, the best pub for food is the White Hart in Cenarth, the friendliest was the Pendre Inn - a real warm welcome. The local {The Carpenters Arms} up the road is not worth a trip. We all enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Harris families + 3 dogs ( June 05) – Cardigan farm park was very good – excellent viewing of seals. Newport beach good for dog owners. Nice river walk westwards to Cilgerran Castle.
Rob, Sam & Ellie Harris ( June 05) – Had an absolutely fantastic time. Weather was glorious sunshine everyday – very lucky. Ellie absolutely enjoyed herself & so did the dogs. Loved the cottage, can’t wait to come back & see the difference! See you next year.
Mike, Lesley & Louie the dog. (July 05) – We had a lovely restful stay. The cottage is very comfortable - a real home from home. The walk along the river to the Nature Reserve is the perfect way to get an appetite, because the food at the Nature Reserve is well cooked, well presented and there is a great choice for veggies. If you’ve any energy left a walk around the reserve is a must. Poppit beach is brilliant. Perfect for dogs, which are allowed on a lead (even off a lead if not many people around). All in all a great holiday. Many Thanks, Lesley.
Nick Hammond & Heidi Robbins (Again) (July 05) Lovely to be back. Thoroughly lovely holiday despite the weather. Cottage + Courtyard both superb ! Wish we could have stayed longer. Gorgeous beaches + countryside, sad to be going home ! Hope to return soon !
Harris & Macnalley families (July 05) We had a wonderful week in ‘sunny Wales’. The scenery is fantastic & the food at the hotel was very up market. Do be careful when walking by the river as 1 of our party ended up in A& E after a nasty fall.
Dick & Jo Saunders, Luke & Ben and David Parkes Bowls (Aug 05) A wonderful week - spacious and very comfortable. Very, very suitable for a large family of 23 which did everything together including meals – all ages who had a very enjoyable and happy time together. The Courtyard kept everyone together and the games facilities kept everyone happy. The weather was perfect and the location idyllic. Otters and herons seen by the river. Thank you. DPB.
Davidsons & Baileys (Aug 05) Lovely holiday – wonderful location & arrangement of cottages. Smashing weather – we all wanted longer & children upset on leaving ! Otters spotted on walk to Cilgerran & dolphins seen at Mwnt. All very memorable. Thank you. This is a great place. Had a lot of fun. Lovely holiday, wonderful location & arrangement of cottages, hope we come back. Great time. xxx. Stacey, Abby, Hannah. xxx
Blunn / Earlam (Sept 05) Pembrokeshire is glorious, coastline so impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Christine & Barry Taylor & Brady the dog (Sept 05) We had a lovely time so quiet and relaxing, will be back next September for 2 wks again. Brady thought the walks and river were great. Barry fished most days – caught a few small brown trout.
Cath & Rod Howe (Oct 05) Our first visit to this part of Wales. Pembrokeshire is a gem – dramatic cliff walks, lush fields & gardens, beautiful beaches, and everyone we met was very friendly. Too much to see in a week, hope to be back. The cottaes are in a lovely setting, very relaxing & lots of space. We found many nice ‘tea shops’ serving delicious cakes. The local ‘soup’ named ‘cawl’ made a wholesome & filling lunch. Castle Malgwyn Hotel a treat, serving very good food. All in all, a super holiday, over far too soon.
Jim, Sarah & Hayley Wilson, Taylor the dog + granny too, from Scotalnd (Oct 05) After a long drive down, great to get to such comfortable accommodation. The peacefulness of the location and the lush surroundings added to our ‘wind down’. Enjoyed Mwnt & Poppit Sands beaches. Mostly good weather, but the rain didn’t stop us getting out. Had a great lunch in the Black Lion in Cardigan, no waiting time & excellent service. Cenarth Falls a lovely place. Enjoyed our week. Taylor the dog has never slept so well !!!
