Bailey family. (New Year, Jan ’05). A great place to see in the New Year and celebrate a 40th birthday. With our great friends we occupied all the Courtyard cottages and partied in STYLE. Thanks Tanya and Dylan.
Dunne & Hallam families & Millie - the chocolate lab(Jan ‘05). Excellent cottage, finished in a lovely style. The weather was as wet + windy as you could get, but it was very good for hangovers. Thanks very much.
Jill (Feb ’05). Fantastic location, great cottage, brilliant place to unwind, for a laugh and interesting golf try the nine hole course at the Cliff Hotel. £6 per round take plenty of BALLS ! Cheers.
Christine & Barry Taylor (M’Chester) & Pat & Ian Connel. (March ‘05). Everything about this break has been superb. The cottage, the location and even the weather couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed some beautiful walks along the coastal path and along the river. We loved Clocktower cottage. A weekend to remember.
Hix family (April ’05) A lovely week and lucky with the weather! Couldn’t ask for any more. For any frustrated fly fishermen drawing a blank on this lovely river, they may like to try the Rhydlewis fishery at Llandysul, not too far away it is a very pretty three acre lake but also has creature comforts, mens & ladies w.c., coffee making facilities and shop, as they also own a smokery and various benches dotted about. Very relaxing even with 3 children!
Jackie & Symon Holmes, (April ‘05) This is the Jewel in the crown of the Courtyard. What a beautiful cottage and such a relaxing atmosphere. Tanya and Dylan have thought of all our comfort needs and made this a memorable cottage to stay in. The cottage had a wow factor as you walk in. The bedroom has a WOW! factor and the bathroom has a WOW !! factor. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We started last year in Secret cottage and will return in December for Christmas in Courtyard cottage this is truly a magnificent & relaxing place to be…….Thank you.
Sandra + Denis Smith (May 05) – We have been to the Clocktower before, but that was before the conversion. It is now excellent and we have enjoyed our stay. Well done !
Mike & Beryl Deeley (May 05) – First rate accommodation. Excellent location to relax. Plenty of interesting places to explore, i.e. Poppit sands. Thank you for an enjoyable week. The weather was good too!
Ian Fortt and family & Benny the dog (May 05) – Even more impressive than we expected – we are all overwhelmed and thrilled. Was absolutely peaceful and restful – truly beautiful. The location, the cottage, even the weather was superb and couldn’t have been better ! Fully recommend Nags Head (great meals !), Cardiff Arms (dog friendly) and the beautiful walk there along the river. Perfect ! Have already booked it again!! Thanks again!
Chris, Liz, Libby & Fred the dog. (May 05) – A truly fantastic cottage, which deserves its 5 stars. Decorated, furnished and equipped to the highest standard, with every little detail taken care of. The Coach Houses are worth a visit on a rainy day, with a good choice of books and videos. The Clocktower certainly gets our recommendation.
Chris & Neil, Nathan, James & Jessica Oxborrow, Janet Wadley (May 05) – What a great week we’ve had. Exceeded our expectations for weather, activities, facilities and accommodation. So nice to have such plush and classy rooms – well done, D& T ! We had fun exploring beaches – Mwnt was great and those around New Quay and Moylgrove. Saw dolphins in harbour at New Quay in first day and seals and loads of sea birds on jet boat trip around Ramsey Island. If you plan a trip, go with Venture Jet – they’re flexible, knowledgeable, better value and great hosts. Take lots of waterproofs and complete change of clothes! (work out of St David’s ). Coastal walks around Moylgrove are beautiful especially stunning cliffs around Witches Cauldron, natural blow hole. Teifi Wildlife Marshes fun for a walk – hope you catch the elusive otter ! River walk from here to Cilgerran castle is an absolute must. Next time we’ll bring the dog – all those rabbits, what fun ! C & N.
Maggie, Henrik, Josh & Tom Hack (June 05) – Fantastic cottage, A great week had by all ! Thanks M + H.
The Mooney family from Co. Cavan, Ireland (June 05)- A very relaxing time- great surprise with cottage character - good for the soul- will be back again.
Alan Ashmore & Doris Tursas (June 05) – A wonderful cottage. Very clean, very quiet, very dark by night. We slept like angels ! And a fantastic countryside, good weather. Win sommen wider !! Es was super schon lie.
Michelle + Charles Kershaw and baby George (June 05) – Beautiful setting, horse riding at Bridell 15 mins away lovely, well kept horses. If going up to the fisheries the way there may be difficult for new drivers as lots of B roads and dirt tracks. St David’s and Whitesands are beautiful – well worth a visit (no dogs between May & Sept)
Carol, Katie & Lucy Finland and Tom & Cath Pickervance (June 05) – A beautiful cottage and courtyard. Very well equipped. Beautiful surroundings, with fabulous beaches. Dogs allowed at Poppit Sands, but Mwnt recommended for wildlife. Dolphins and seals in the cove. All had a great time and I’m sure we’ll be back. Recommend Venture Jet at St David’s, horse riding at Bridell and All Terrain Quad bikes as good activities. Many Thanks, Carol. xxx. & Katie xxx.
Duncans and Brennans (July 05) What a beautiful cottage ! Everything you could possibly need. The cottage was beautiful and clean when we arrived, no complaints what-so-ever. Weather wasn’t brilliant but still plenty to do !! Would recommend a trip to Manorbia Castle and wonderful secluded beach. We had two fantastic meals at the White Hart in Cenarth (children welcome). All in all really good time ! Stunning cottage ! Even better than we hoped for. Had a lovely relaxing holiday. Nags Head in Abercych also really nice for evening meals although really wouldn’t advise eating anything before you go as the portions are huge ! Carpenters Arms probably the least welcoming pub we’ve ever been to & the food was nasty too. We’ve all had a lovely holiday + would definitely come back.
Ann, Bren and Caroline Harley (July 05) Gorgeous cottage, fabulous weather (thanks for arranging that !). Best beaches nearby: Mwnt (dolphins !), Llangranog (also Whitesands etc. further south). Best actrivities: horseriding at Dyfed horseriding stables and fishing – Harry and co were brilliant. Also saw the local lads fishing from coracles at midnight. Should also mention Huw at the Reel Thing in Cardigan mkt. Best Food: Nag’s Head (avoid Carpenters Arms like the plague!) Best Shops: Narbeth, also army surplus stores on Cardigan – Aber road ((hey we were desperate). Garage shop just past Llangranog turning surprisingly well stocked esp Welsh cheese. This is beginning to sound like an Oscar speech, I’ll shut up now…..
John, Kim, Beth, Sean + Ffion Caine (July 05) Really enjoyed our stay, lovely cottage, the weather was on and off good. The kids loved the table football and ping pong ! And also the video selection was great to keep them quiet in the evenings ! The best part of the house was the Jacuzzi – according to the kids ! But, thank you for a lovely holiday ! We hope to return soon.
Laurie Rae (Aug 05) Great beds for the family, the cooking appliances were perfect and well…. Everything was excellent !
Parkes – Bowen family (Aug 05) The Perfect Place for a family get together. A great time was had by all !!The Tabel Tennis Tournament reached an exciting conclusion at 11:00pm on our last evening ! Will be recommending The Courtyard.
Mick, Jane, Jess, Adam, Marie, Richard & Meg (Aug 05) Had a good time, weather sometimes off! Meg enjoyed the Disney videos. Mwnt beach was great apart from the steps. Cottage gorgeous. Very impressed that you had channel 4 so I could watch the Big Brother final !! (typical youth of today !!)
Carole, Sam, Shireen, Dan, Joel, Eve + Ruby (Aug 05) Had an enjoyable week – mixed weather – cottage lovely but do feel it is unsuitable for under 2/3 year olds (stone floors and steps etc.) Good en suite facilities for families and good local pubs to eat eg. The Ferry Inn @ St Dogmaels. The White Hart @ Cenarth and The Nags Head @ Abercych. Would recommend for families with older children for a relaxing break.
Hannah & Terry Docherty (Sept 05) Absolutely fantastic cottage which exceeded our expectations and the quiet, remote location was perfect for our relaxing honeymoon ! Many thanks . PS. The cava was a very kind gesture and went down a treat – thanks again !
Martin & Debbie Twigg & Chester -the German Shepherd dog (Oct 05) From the minute we arrived we fell in love with the place. The cottage and The Courtyard are lovely. The cottage had everything you could possibly want and the upstairs bathroom is brill. The beach at Poppit is very good, nice and clean and dog friendly. We also went to the beach at Mwnt (dogs allowed Oct to May only). There are quite a few steps down to the beach but its worth it. We saw dolphins, which was an added bonus and we think we saw a seal or two. We also had a lovely walk along the river to Cilgerran where we managed to see a couple of otters playing on the riverbank. Excellent. A fantastic couple of days, we will be back !!
Ian Fortt & Yvette Collins (Oct 05) This is just a fantastic place. Never has Yvette felt so well and rested – its been the ULTIMATE chill out !
Gill, Barry, Jonathan & Jennifer Knott + Grandma (Oct 05) What a beautiful setting for exploring the delights of the Welsh countryside. We look forward to coming back. Thank you Dylan and Tanya.
Amy, Phil & Gilly (Nov 05) Beautiful cottage that far exceeded our expectations. Fabulous whirpool tub! We definitely recommend visiting the beach at Mwnt – even in November – and thoroughly enjoyed the stunning cliff formations at Ceibwr, the forest trail to Penbryn beach ( a little treacherous in the rain!) and the pretty towns of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn. We’d also definitely recommend an elegant meal at the Castle Malgwyn Hotel up the hill – some of the best food we’ve ever eaten. We’ll be back, and will recommend this place to everyone !
